Let’s use an example. When you help Sally sign up for Medicare Advantage and she’s new to Medicare, you’ll earn $611 year one and $306 for each year she renews.

Our Process

1. Fill out Agent Data Sheet

Help us get to know you. We just need a few details and what licenses you do or don’t have at this time. From there, we’ll sit down to go over options and next steps.

2. License & AHIP

This process depends on your state. Most require a 20 hour course (~$500) with a state-specific exam followed by the 8 hour AHIP course ($175).

3. Errors & Omissions Insurance Requirements

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires each Medicare Agent to carry E and O insurance with an Each Claim limit of $1M and Aggregate limit of $3M. I use www.napa-benefits.org, but you can use whoever you want.

4. Contract with Carriers

Once you have completed AHIP, we will work together to get you contracted with the appropriate carriers. These may include UnitedHealthcare, Regence, Humana, and others. You can add more as you feel comfortable. You’ll have some zero cost training with each carrier to become familiar with their products.

5. Help Clients & Get Paid

Commissions are paid directly from the carrier; and nearly all carriers pay the maximum allowable under CMS guidelines. Commissions are paid on new business AND renewals. Our agents own their own book of business and grow an asset that can be sold.

e.g. Agent sells 2 policies per week, 50 weeks per year. Total 100 policies. They continue building their business for 5 years until they reach 500 clients. Residual commissions on 500 clients x $306/client = $153,000 or $12,750 per month.

This is just raw Medicare numbers and doesn’t include any additional commission you may receive from selling additional Ancillary products to your clients which we will also help you with.
